Who runs this site

Ventura Remodel Guide is operated by Safeway Construction, a licensed California general contractor (CSLB License #1066117) based in Simi Valley. Safeway has been building remodels and ADUs in Ventura County for 20+ years.

We publish this guide because we got tired of seeing homeowners arrive at their first meeting having read 30 hours of low-quality, contradictory, AI-spam content. Better-informed homeowners ask better questions, sign better contracts, and end up happier — whether or not they hire us.

How we make money

This site has no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored content, and no paid placements. The only commercial relationship is that the parent company (Safeway Construction) is featured on our Find a Contractor page — disclosed plainly, not buried in fine print.

How we source data

Permit fees and timelines are pulled directly from each city's published fee schedule and verified by phone with each city's planning desk on a quarterly cadence. Cost data is derived from anonymized real bids closed by Safeway Construction in Ventura County over the last 18 months — line-item, with regional and tier breakdowns.
